Before You Die

Before you die
Let’s drive down to Mexico
Along the sea
Stop by some friends’ I know
Before you die

And we won’t try
To forget our story
Even if we cry
By what you'd told me
Before you die

I would keep your lie
At the age of fourteen
And your dirty magazines
You’d go broken and bolting
Before you’d die

I’ve pictured your death
So many times now
I can finally appreciate
You Dad
Before you die

Ready to take that ride
I knew you’d come along
You bring your photographs
And I’ll sing you this song
Before you die

Just might be I
Who’ll be the first to go
So we take a drive
Down to Mexico
Before you die

My dog was pretty disurbed when I took his bones away for the evening. I clacked them together and sang and played guitar. John Hoy played bass, Michael Hatfield accordion, and Robin Mayforth played violin.
