I took a step
And then I walked
One thousand miles
Just like that
And with some pep
When fortune knocked
I made my piles
Just like that
How do they make the sky, so sunny
above
Shine down on me and my m-money and love
They say my heart
Is big enough
To stun a troll
Just like that
I cut a fart
A nun would laugh
I’m not so droll
Just like that
Men hugging men, toast on the floor, a woman
cruises porn in her underwear
Wait for the bus, jump rope, scrub-a-dub, sleep late, blue paint, my fingers
in your hair
An art betrayed
An easy meal
You’re not so tough
Just like that
What would you trade
If you could feel
You have enough
Just like that
How do they make the sky so sunny
above
And rivers flow with milk and honey enough
The stars the street lights and a wish in your eye
Shine down on me and my m-money and love
Mmmmmmmmmmoney and love,
Muh muh muh muh money and love
The gavel fell
The deals were cut
We were off to war
Just like that
Might as well
The book is shut
Now I’m not some bore
Just like that
Just like that
Just like that
Just like that
Yeah yeah yeah money and love
Yeah yeah yeah money and love
How do they make the sky so sunny above
And rivers flow with milk and honey enough
The stars the street lights and a wish in your eye
Shine down on me and my m-money and love
I took at step
And then I walked
One thousand miles
Just like that
Just like that
Just like that
Just like that
My first big rock and roll song,
inspired by Elvis (C.). I wanted it to be a happy song too, at least mostly
happy. I was pretty happy at the time, except for the Bush thing.
Annie Stocking sings and so
does Sandy Griffith. I asked them to sound sweet and coy at first, like
Dan Hicks girls, and then let the big, take-no-shit sista's come in the
room at the end. I had know idea they would actually do it... just like
that!
John Hoy did the bass part,
Michael Hatfield organ, and David Rokeach played drums. Thank you!
I played electric guitar and
sang lead and harmony.
