Thank you, Mark, for being an angel. Here are the current composites with my voice, Lesley’s, and Jett’s. You’ll hear imperfections I hope to clean up when I do the final sweetening for the longer version.
Please record 4 + 1 sections
I think you can do this in one 40-minute sitting. Feel free to send me all your takes, and I’ll pick the ones that match the other singers best.
You know how to record. For each of these sections, pipe the music into your headphones and record clean into your mic. (If you know the part and don’t want to hear my voice, I included piano-only parts at the very bottom of this page.)
The first 4 sections to sing are the angel parts. Please do try to be precise with the timing and pitch, something you’re very good at. The +1 section is the big choir from the end of the song and you don’t need to be on timing and pitch for that.
Section 1. Arrival of the angels (ahs)
Ah... Ah... Ah... Ah...
Section 2. The support of the angels (background)
My you feel, Safe. Ha--ppy. Strong and free. Kindness for your, Safe. Ha--ppy. Strong and free. Kindness for your, Safe. Ha--ppy. Strong and free. Kindness for
Section 3. Song of the angels (full verse with transition)
May you feel safe. May you be happy. May you be strong and free from suffering. May you feel kindness. (Tempo slows down here. End with a vibrato of angst.) Se----elf
Section 4. Compassion of the angels (“when the beast is at your door”)
Ah... Ah... When it gets inside you. Ma-----ay you feel.
Once you have the file saved (include your name in the file name) upload it here.
Big choir
I’d love you to be in the mix of the big choir at the end. It doesn’t need to be precise like the angel parts because you’ll be backed up by the big choir. Just sing along. No perfection. Feel free to improvise. When we shoot this part, I’ll pick something that matches for a brief cameo.
May you feel safe May you be happy May you be strong and free from suffering May you feel kindness for yourself (4 times, then) May you feel safe, may you feel safe
Piano and metronome
If you don’t want to hear my voice and you know my part here are the piano only parts.
